ペストとブダの間の最初の常設橋でしたが、以前は春から秋にかけて両側の間にいわゆる「浮き橋」しかありませんでした。この橋は、イギリスのウィリアム・ティアニークラークの計画に基づき、1849年までに7年で完成しました。その2つの大きな柱は、ペストとブダの風景の重要な要素です。両側の橋を守っている4頭のライオンと同じように。ライオンは1853年に設置されました。柱の中央の紋章は共産主義時代に交換されました。元の紋章は1996年に復元されたばかりです。トンネルは1857年に開通しました。ハンガリーに定住したスコットランドの橋梁建築家、アダム・クラーク（建築家とは無関係）によって設計されました。

ユネスコの世界遺産に登録されているAndrássy útは、デアーク・フェレンツ広場から少し北に始まり、北東に2.5km伸び、ホソーク広場とペストの広大な「シティパーク」であるヴァロスリゲットで終わります。Andrássy útはとても美しい大通りで、途中で楽しむことがたくさんあるので、徒歩で見るのが一番です。ただし、疲れたらデアーク・フェレンツ広場からシティパークまでM1の地下鉄がAndrássy útの下を走っています。
