Embark by boat from our private jetty, for a serene exploration along the Hau River, before arriving at the rural Khmer village of Phu Ly, located within the Vinh Long province. Upon your arrival at Phu Ly, you will walk through series of small narrow paths leading to the hidden pagoda of the 379 years old Khmer Temple called Ang Kuli, which means Fingers in English. The name was given due to how the temple was built by hands without tools in 1672. Inside the temple, you will experience the blessing ceremony from the Khmer monk. This is nestled in the heart of this century-old forest to discover firsthand the Khmer culture of the Mekong Delta.

Surrounded by an expansive green oasis and towering hundred-year-old foliage, you can immerse in the beauty of the elegant architecture while uncovering the legendary tales of the past. Have a tour around the pagoda, observe the monks’ daily activities. Finally, before heading back to Azerai Can Tho, your last pit stop is the Chinese spiritual structure in the middle of the Ninh Kieu quay. Since 1894, the intricate wooden structure has been a worshipping and gathering landmark of the local Chinese community. For good luck, take the time to pray for your loved ones and write your wishes which will be associated to a giant conical incense which will burn near the heavens for several weeks.

Discover the uncharted in the neighboring province, Vinh Long, by foot to immerse in the full cultural experience. The getaway starts with a 30 minutes’ cruise along the tranquil Hau river. From the jetty at Azerai Can Tho islet, embark on our Azerai wooden boat for a 45-minute river cruise along the Hau River, passing Ninh Kieu Quay, and fishing villages before reaching the Cai Rang floating market.
