Hexham Racecourse takes full advantage of a natural amphitheatre of sloping grass below the stands to provide superb viewing of racing as well as the magnificent surrounding countryside. It is situated 600 feet above Hexham the steeplechase course hosts 14 race meetings a year. Enjoy a friendly atmosphere with a superb view of the course and the magnificent surrounding countryside. Enjoy a drink and a light snack in the bar or a full meal in the restaurant or private box. Overlooking the parade ring, the Henderson Room also offers a panoramic view of the course and the winner's enclosure and can provide private dining and refreshment facilities to parties of up to 120 guests for a full, sit-down lunch or dinner, or for 180 for a finger buffet or reception.

Once upon a time in 2016, Matt Levy, founder of Covert Cocktail Club, hosted a secret speakeasy as an intimate place for strangers to gather in his home. The only way to find out about it was via word of mouth. No address was given, the only clue being a sign placed in the window, “Cocktails Here”.
A lot of people thought it was pretty cool, even before The New York Times wrote about it. But that was all pre-pandemic, and this is a new era.
