The Mackay Entertainment & Convention Center (MECC) is located in the heart of Mackay and is just a short stroll away from a plethora of City Centre restaurants, an award-winning Regional Art Gallery, hotels, a library, shopping precincts and our magnificent blue water Pioneer River. The Center is easily accessible via foot, car, bike or bus and approximately 10 minutes via taxi from the Mackay Airport. Within walking distance are 500+ four star and above rooms. The Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre (MECC) is a purpose built venue, catering for a broad range of events, including meetings, conferences, product launches, award dinners and exhibitions. With banquet style seating for up to 800 guests and award-winning catering. Hot summers and mild, sunny winters mean great weather for events. Excellent aviation, road and rail access – more than 60 flights weekly and just 1.5 hours from Brisbane by air. The Mackay Region sits on the Queensland Coast, half way between Brisbane and Cairns. The region's 66,484 square kilometres offer a relaxed, tropical city, secluded beaches, an award-winning marina, and pristine rainforest hinterland. There is plenty of space for inspired thinking, without big city distractions. Whilst a nature-based destination, Mackay also boasts a sophisticated, award-winning venue, the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre which seats over 1000 delegates, with an auditorium, plenary halls, exhibition space and multiple meeting rooms.
