Here are directions from the major airports: Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ): -Head south on Airport Cir toward Bradenton Connector. -Turn left onto US-41 N/Tamiami Trail. -Continue on US-41 N for approximately 2.5 miles. The Westin Sarasota will be on your right, overlooking Sarasota Bay. Tampa International Airport (TPA): -Take the FL-589 Toll S/Veterans Expressway exit from the airport. -Continue on FL-589 Toll S/Veterans Expressway. -Take I-275 S and US-19 S to University Pkwy in Sarasota. -Take exit 213 from I-75 S. -Continue on University Pkwy. -Turn right onto N Tamiami Trail/US-41 S. The Westin Sarasota will be on your left, overlooking Sarasota Bay. Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers: -Get on I-75 N from Terminal Access Rd and Treeline Ave. -Follow I-75 N to University Pkwy in Sarasota. -Take exit 213 from I-75 N. -Continue on University Pkwy. -Turn right onto N Tamiami Trail/US-41 S. The Westin Sarasota will be on your left, overlooking Sarasota Bay. Marie Selby Botanical Gardens provides 45 acres of bayfront sanctuaries connecting people with air plants of the world, native nature, and our regional history. Established by forward thinking women of their time, Selby Gardens is composed of the 15-acre Downtown Sarasota campus and the 30-acre Historic Spanish Point campus in the Osprey area of Sarasota County, Florida. The Downtown Campus on Sarasota Bay is the only botanical garden in the world dedicated to the display and study of epiphytic orchids, bromeliads, gesneriads and ferns, and other tropical plants. There is a significant focus on botany, horticulture, education, historical preservation, and the environment. The Historic Spanish Point (HSP) Campus is located less than 10 miles south along Little Sarasota Bay. The HSP Campus, one of the largest preserves showcasing native Florida plants that is interpreted for and open to the public, celebrates an archaeological record that encompasses approximately 5,000 years of Florida history.

Designed to be “one park for all,” The Bay is open and accessible, free and welcoming to the full and rich diversity of the community, now and for generations to come. The Bay preserves, restores and transforms 53 acres of precious city-owned land along Sarasota Bay into a blue and green oasis – providing a sustainable bayfront gathering place for the community to experience and enjoy a wide range of park uses, free programs and events. The first 14-acre phase of the park opened in October 2022. Phase 2, the next 14-acre $65 million development, will begin in the Summer of 2023. The completed park in total will cost an estimated $175-200 million and will take approximately 8-10 years to complete over 4 or more phases.
