In August of 2016, chef Laurel Burleson launched the Ugly Apple Food Cart. She has been cooking in professional kitchens since high school and has a degree in hospitality management. After cooking for several years around Chicago and Madison, she saw how much was going to waste of this fantastic Midwestern produce. She envisioned owning a cafe that focused on delicious local produce. Hence, the Ugly Apple was born. Like the story of the Ugly Duckling, the Ugly Apple might not be bought at market but can still make a beautiful fritter. Additionally, we provide specialty kitchen appliances for rent, an outdoor grilling patio for relaxation, and complimentary on-site laundry facilities for added convenience. Our fitness center is also available to guests looking to stay active. For meetings and events, we have 688 square feet of versatile meeting space available. While we do not have in-house catering options, we are happy to accommodate outside food for your event.
