Portland Manor is located in Knysna, South Africa. Now lovingly and carefully restored by the new owners, Denis and Debbie Corne, Portland Manor has once again become the charming residence he dreamed of. Situated high in the hills above Knysna, Portland Manor is a beautiful historical citrus and game estate. Established in 1849 the Manor house, Lodge, Restaurant, pub, 7 hectare dam and game camp is surrounded by fruit orchards, indigenous forests and mature gardens. It has been described as 200 hectares of heaven on earth, the perfect country getaway. Lawn wood Lodge has 19 tastefully decorated rooms including double rooms, which are ideal for small families. Our luxury rooms are spacious and individually furnished and have log burning fireplaces and en-suite facilities; there is also a large lounge area for guests to enjoy. The Manor house was built during the early 1860’s by an English gentleman named Henry Barrington and still retains its obvious English heritage. There are 8 bedrooms 6 of which are en-suite and 2 sharing. There is also a large lounge, dining room, library and bar for our guests to enjoy; all rooms have tea and coffee making facilities. Nestled in the foothills of the Outeniqua mountain range a mere 20 km northwest of Knysna this historic Estate provides the perfect setting for the realization of your wedding day dream. It also have the cozy Portland Arms pub, one of the oldest property’s on the farm where you can sit back with a welcome drink, play pool, or simply relax.
