There is a sliver of land between the sea, the mountain and the skies in the Liguria region and more precisely in Tigullio right in the heart of the gorgeous Riviera del Levante, between Portofino and Cinque Terre. This is the small and charming town of Moneglia, the place where you can find the old convent and the refined rooms of the Abbadia San Giorgio residence; a delightful period building that has remained unchanged. Our suite, junior suite and double rooms have a simple style that exudes refined luxury: the elements that prevail here are slate and wrought iron fashioned by the local artisans, with terracotta floors and marble in the stairs and in the bathrooms. Strazzanti was created by the 3 Strazzanti sisters with our youngest sister & professional Chef Emilia leading the experiences directly in Sicily. We continue the story and memories of our grandparents who taught us everything about our Sicilian and Neapolitan heritage. Growing up we understood our Italian heritage through them as people, their stories and by sharing, eating and cooking the dishes that they grew up with from their homeland and using the ingredients that our relatives would send to us in England from Sicily & Naples in small parcels. When our grandparents left us, it reinforced as a family that what they taught and shared with us is a huge part of our cultural identity, and we could not risk that heritage disappearing. Together as a family and working with other Sicilian families our passion is to give back to the land and work with like-minded young entrepreneurs, landowners and farmers in Sicily to keep this heritage and Sicilian traditions, which we all lovingly grew up with, alive.
