The hotel has space for stands for congresses, exhibitions and fairs. The Meliá Bilbao Hotel is strategically located in the heart of Bilbao´s new business, leisure and cultural centre. Emblematic city icons such as the Guggenheim Museum, the Congress Palace, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Doña Casilda Park are within walking distance. The international airport is located 15 minutes away with easy direct access. Accommodation: Modern and comfortable, our Hotel has 209 exterior rooms: 161 Meliá, 10 family, 19 Premium, 6 Gran Premium, 5 Junior Suites, 6 Business Suites, 3 Grand Suites and 1 Presidential Suite. The hotel also accommodates for special requests, such as rooms with disabled facilities as well as hypoallergenic bedrooms. All rooms are equipped with a full bathroom with bath and walk-in shower, hair dryer and magnifying mirror, independent air conditioning and heating, LCD TV, telephone, internet WIFI, minibar, safety deposit box and 24 h room service. Services: Designed by the prestigious architect Ricardo Legorreta, Meliá Bilbao is inspired by the work of the Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida. Amongst its magnificent facilities and services, the hotel provides different dining spaces; 2 restaurants Quatre and Aizian, Q Lounge pintxos-tapas bar and breakfast buffet; free Wi-Fi internet throughout the hotel;Wellness Center with gym, semi-outdoor heated pool and sauna; 7 meeting rooms with a maximum capacity for up to 300 people; spectacular lobby 40 metres tall and private parking with direct access to reception. Some of the characteristics of the Fine Arts Museum that manifested themselves back at the very beginning are still recognisable even today: characteristics, for example, such as the museum's close ties with public institutions who coincided with the museum in the desire to make Bilbao a cultural reference point. The important donations and legacies from both institutions and private individuals received by the museum in the first years of its life established the future lines along which the Collection would grow. Another of the museum's characteristics is its desire to be contemporaneous which, back in its beginnings, was in response to the concerns of the local artistic community. This wager for contemporaneousness materialised some ten years later when a new museum dedicated to Contemporary and Modern Art was founded. Thus, the Museum of Modern Art which was originally located in Council buildings, opened its own doors in 1924. Its first Director was painter Aurelio Arteta.

The Euskalduna Conference Centre is a unique building and one of the flagships of new, 21st century Bilbao Euskalduna Jauregia – Palacio Euskalduna. S.A. is a publicly run company owned by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia. The building was designed by architects Federico Soriano and Dolores Palacios to resemble a ship under construction, because it stands on the site formerly occupied by the Euskalduna shipyard. It won the Enric Miralles award for architecture at the 6th Spanish Architecture Biennial in 2001. This 58,200 m² multi-purpose complex is located in the heart of the city of Bilbao, close to the international airport. It hosts a wide range of economic, business, academic, political, institutional, social and cultural events. It is the home of the city’s opera season, organised by ABAO (Friends of the Opera of Bilbao), one of the most highly renowned in Spain and indeed Europe. It is also the home base of the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra (BOS), which was founded in 1920 and has been performing since 1922. The building contains a range of venues for meetings and entertainment purposes (an auditorium, congress halls, meeting rooms, offices, foyers and a splendid exhibition hall) along with service areas featuring storage space, cloakrooms, dressing rooms, rehearsal rooms, etc

In 1981, Julie founded Everything Done Right Catering, a high-end catering business. During that time, Julie developed a line of dressings and sauces sold to large retail store chains in Canada and Mexico. In 1989, Julie was a recipient of the 40 Under 40 award. In 2006, Julie was inducted into the BC Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier.
