The Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County convention center is undergoing a $1.3 billion expansion.
Phase 1 of the newly expanded West convention center building is now complete, and we are open for business. Boasting a total of 800,000 sq ft of space including 350,000 sq ft of exhibit space our venue offers endless possibilities to meeting planners.
Phase 2 of the East convention center building expansion is well under way and will encompass a total of 1.2 million sq ft of space, a 65K sq ft waterfront ballroom, 6-acre outdoor tropical plaza, an 801 room OMNI headquarter hotel and a water taxi and yacht charter dock. Phase 2 slated for completion in 2025.

The Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center has been awarded Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED®) for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance Gold certification from The Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI), an arm of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The venue is the first convention center in Florida to be LEED certified on any level and one of only three in the nation to achieve LEED Gold certification for an Existing Building.
