Since then the region has made up for lost time with visitors flocking to its outstanding Nature Reserve and to nearby Norofjorour – one of the finest eastern fjords. Gerpir, Iceland’s easternmost point, is close by, as are interesting museums at Reyoarfjorour and Eskifjorour.
