Der Neorenaissancebau wurde 1861 bis 1869 durch Franz Joseph I. von August Sicard von Sicardsburg und Eduard van der Nüll als k. k. Hofoperntheater errichtet. Direktor der Wiener Staatsoper ist seit Juli 2020 Bogdan Roščić.

If an event is scheduled in the month of December, it may be canceled without penalty up to 90 days in advance of the event date. Less than 90 days notice will result in a forfeit of all deposits.
