Visit Charnock’s on the top floor of Charnock City to have a grand, bird’s eye view of the Salt Lake Stadium. There is something classy about the place, which is a real crowd-puller. With huge glass windows, an arched doorway with a stained-glass top, plush wooden furniture and Hussain paintings adorning the walls, Charnock’s works sheer magic on you. Try here the Bengali delicacies — the Daab Chingri, the Chitol Petir Kalia, the Ilish Bhapa, the Beckti Paturi and the veg delicacies like the Mochar Ghonto and the Dhokar Dalna. The North Indian selection is equally good with the Akbari Gosht, the Murgh Safedi, the Mahi Tikka Masala and the Samundari Najrane. If you wish to go Continental, try the Lobster Thermidor, the Greek Roast Lamb, the Roast Chicken and the Sizzling White Lady. Take a sip or two from the well-stocked bar as well. This is a distinctive Restaurant-Cum-Bar that offers some amazing food that will leave gastronomes wanting for more. Being at the top floor, you also get to see the Kolkata skyline from a table beside a window. It has well-equipped separate banquet halls with the capacity to accommodate guests whose numbers may range up to one hundred for Conference, Meeting, Wedding, Birthday and Get-Together parties.
