El Puente Central de Piedra del Puente Triple, construido en 1842, ocupa el sitio histórico de un antiguo puente de madera, que conecta estratégicamente las tierras del noroeste de Europa con los Balcanes o el sudeste de Europa. Entre 1929 y 1932, Plečnik añadió dos puentes peatonales al puente central, creando una maravilla arquitectónica única en Liubliana. Plečnik sustituyó la barandilla metálica del puente central por una enorme balaustrada de piedra adornada con lámparas, ampliando este diseño a los tres puentes. Cada puente lateral cuenta con dos escaleras que conducen a una terraza junto al río, donde Plečnik plantó álamos, añadiendo un toque distintivo a la apariencia del puente. En la margen derecha, una tienda de regalos complementa el puente cerca del mercado, mientras que un quiosco se encuentra en la margen izquierda.
