Beat-London as a very rich and hallowed history, first opening its doors in 1966 as The Speakeasy Club. The venue which was fondly known as the Speak has housed the likes of Van Der Graff Generator, Deep Purple, Hawkwind, Jimmy Hendrix, Thin Lizzy, The Sex Pistols, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, and King Crimson to name a few. The Speakeasy was a hub for those wanting to explore their musical awareness with like minded individuals, Beat continues to provide an after dark haven for those wanting to share an interest in music and society.
