Additional Information

NeueHouse Hollywood is located at Columbia Square, formerly home of CBS Studios and Columbia Broadcasting and Radio founded in 1937 by Bill Paley. Its state-of-the-art recording studios and theaters cemented Hollywood as the entertainment center of the universe, and gave birth to a long list of artistic and technical breakthroughs involving radio, television and recorded music. In our historic Studio A, Lucille Ball lmed “I Love Lucy,” and stars such as Jack Benny, Orson Wells, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Johnny Cash and the Beach Boys among the long list of artists broadcasted and recorded hits within its walls. James Dean also worked as an usher in the Mezzanine. Designed by the celebrated Swiss-born architect William Lescaze, the revolutionary International Modernist structure is now a designated historic-cultural landmark and is home to our NeueHouse Hollywood Members.
