About us
Le Bouchon Brasserie & Hotel, sitting adjacent to it is the beautiful 14 mile Chelmer and Blackwater navigation canal which opened in 1797 and flows from Springfield Basin in Chelmsford to the sea lock at Heybridge Basin near Maldon. Guests can enjoy a relaxing walk on the riverbank, take a riverboat cruise and sample some of the local ales from one of the many riverside public houses or hire a canoe or small boat and take in the peace and tranquility of the natural surroundings of the Beeleigh weir and the many locks along the channel. The restaurant offers a blend of both French and English Cuisine, set in a relaxed and intimate environment.
