The Ugly Apple Cafe
The Ugly Apple Cafe
Madison
In August of 2016, chef Laurel Burleson launched the Ugly Apple Food Cart. She has been cooking in professional kitchens since high school and has a degree in hospitality management. After cooking for several years around Chicago and Madison, she saw how much was going to waste of this fantastic Midwestern produce. She envisioned owning a cafe that focused on delicious local produce. Hence, the Ugly Apple was born. Like the story of the Ugly Duckling, the Ugly Apple might not be bought at market but can still make a beautiful fritter. We lifted off in November of 2016 and love serving the community of Madison, Wisconsin with the cart and with “Breakfast All Day” catering! Give us a call to discuss your upcoming event!

And that’s just the beginning. Plan a reception beneath the soaring wings of the Milwaukee Art Museum, host a night of networking and gaming at Potawatomi Casino | Hotel, or take over Discovery World’s lakefront location for an event with built-in wow factor. Across the city, unforgettable venues are ready to help you build something bold. There are always good things brewing in Milwaukee. As the city that beer built, we know how to pour on the flavor. The legacy of early brewers like Miller, Pabst, Schlitz and Blatz lives on through local favorites like Third Space Brewing, Torzala Brewing Co. and Lakefront Brewery. That same beer hall spirit lives on in modern attractions too, from the historic Pabst Mansion to Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery and the legendary Miller Caves. Milwaukee’s food scene is led by chefs who aren’t afraid to take risks. With over 200+ locally owned restaurants and 18+ James Beard-recognized chefs, creativity and collaboration come standard. Bartolotta's Lake Park Bistro is a favorite for French cuisine, while Ardent draws from Great Lakes traditions to deliver unforgettable tasting menus. In 2024, Milwaukee took the national spotlight as host city for Top Chef: Wisconsin, proving what locals already knew: this city knows how to eat. Milwaukee is a true urban outdoor destination, with something to enjoy in every season. Along Lake Michigan’s shoreline, you’ll find miles of parkland, green space, beaches and trails for walking, running or biking. Just minutes from downtown, Bradford Beach ranks among the most accessible in the U.S. The three-mile RiverWalk winds through the city, connecting neighborhoods like Walker's Point, the Historic Third Ward and Brewer’s Hill—with fun surprises like Gertie the Duck and the Bronze Fonz along the way.
