Why Choose Our Destination?

You've Never Met a Place Quite Like This Meet Minneapolis Here “Minne” is an understatement Meet the biggest underestimated place in the north. A dramatic riverfront skyline, three professional sports stadiums within 1.3 miles, so much art you’re literally surrounded by it and a theater on almost every corner. A culture committed to perfecting the craft of the brew, home to the best park system in the nation, and a foodie paradise where you can get Nordic cuisine for breakfast, Ethiopian for lunch and this thing called a “Jucy Lucy” for dinner – and oh yeah, cocktails on a Ferris wheel! A place to bring your dancing shoes and to party at festivals all year-round, enjoy four gorgeous seasons surrounded by 13 lakes, the Mississippi River and a waterfall - and a place to meet friendly locals who can’t wait to show you why they love living here. You need space – and we’ve got just the place Venues like the Minneapolis Convention Center with its 3,400 fixed-seat auditorium, 475,200 square feet of exhibit space, 87 meeting rooms, and a 55,000-square-foot ballroom plays host to nearly 500 events year-round. And you’ll be surprised what Minneapolis offers meeting planners when it comes to choosing venues for any size group with a vast variety of hotels, restaurants, theaters and museums. 9,000 hotels rooms – check in and then check it all out With 9,000 hotel rooms (5,000 within walking distance of the convention center) we hit a variety of vibes, moods and price points. From business sensibility to historic chic, you’ll find all the amenities you’d expect and many hotels have direct access to our climate-controlled skyway system which links more than 9 miles of downtown together one level off the ground. With so many hotel options, this means you can literally walk to many restaurants, attractions or stores without going farther than a couple blocks - and sometimes without even going outside! Directions always start with “you’re close” In Minneapolis, you’ll never be far from where you need to be – literally. Our compact and vibrant downtown guarantees your attendees are right in the action, and our award winning METRO light rail system makes it a breeze to get from the airport to downtown quickly. Plus, being geographically located never more than a three hour non-stop fight away AND being a Delta hub, we define “effortless travel.” Be sure to check out Delta Meeting Network to learn how they can help you with your travel needs. So much new to brag about – if only we were the bragging type Right now Minneapolis is experiencing an extraordinary time in its history. A collection of major projects have transformed Minneapolis, adding new facilities, new greenspace, and new public amenities that will continue enhancing the vibrancy of our city. Major projects include U.S. Bank Stadium, host to the 2018 Super Bowl LII and the upcoming EPSN X Games 2018 - 2020 and the 2019 NCAA Final Four. The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden reopened in summer 2017 and features 16 new pieces of art. Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP)

Airport
The Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport (MSP), voted "Best Airport in America" by Travel + Leisure Magazine, is the country’s 14th busiest travel hub with 34 million passengers passing through each year. Compared to other metro areas, only one other U.S. city serves more nonstop markets per capita. The recent arrival of Southwest Airlines offers greater affordability, and MSP’s central location offers a speedy trip (15 – 30 minutes) to the city. MSP has one airfield with four runways and two terminal buildings - the Terminal 1 (Lindbergh, servicing: Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Frontier Airlines, United Airlines and US Airlines) and Terminal 2 (Humphrey, servicing: Air Tran Airlines, Icelandair, Southwest Airlines and Sun Country Airlines), each with adjoining parking ramp facilities. Travelers who need to transfer from one terminal to the other use the light rail transit service. Trains operate 24 hours a day between terminals. No fare is required between airport stations. There is no pedestrian access between the buildings. In 2010, MSP served 32 million passengers and accommodated 437,075 landings and takeoffs making it 15th in North America for the number of travelers served and the 12th busiest airfield in the United States. MSP's 3,400 acres arguably comprise the most valuable economic generator between the St. Croix River and Seattle, supporting more than 150,000 jobs, $10.7 billion in business revenue, $6 billion in personal income, $1.3 billion in local purchases, and $626 million in state and local taxes. The airport and its leadership have received various awards in numerous categories, including safety, fiscal management, labor relations, legal oversight, snow and ice control, concessions, airport design and development, and marketing and communications. Most recently, in 2009, Airport Revenue News, the industry leader in airport concession news, awarded MSP its Frequent Traveler Award for the Airport with the Best Retail Stores.
