About us
Tides Hotel is one of Nelson's most stylish and contemporary venues. We are centrally located within a few minutes’ walk of Nelson's central shopping precinct, theatres, cultural and sporting attractions, restaurants and cafés, the information centre, and close to the scenic waterfront. Tides Hotel is right on the river and many of its rooms open onto the river view. There are 47 rooms consisting of studios, studio spas, spacious suites and interconnecting rooms. There are four serviced conference rooms for your next business event, wedding or function. For the business traveler, it has up to the minute facilities to make your stay most productive.

The Centre of New Zealand on Botanical Hill is one of Nelson’s most popular walks. The starting point is the Botanical Reserve, over a footbridge from the end of Hardy Street, or you can start at the Nelson Visitor Information Centre and follow the Maitai Walkway to the Hardy Street footbridge. Take a look at the interpretive panel at the bottom of the hill for some views of Nelson over the last century, and the history of this ‘Village Green’.
To reach the Centre of New Zealand will take 20-60 minutes, depending on your age, speed and fitness. The main track is suitable for sturdier push chairs and buggies. At the top take a seat, enjoy the stunning view and pick out the features of Nelson’s geography from the information panels.

I’m Zach Alexander, an artist and musician based in the Atlanta area. Often compared to Michael Buble, John Mayer, and Jason Mraz stylistically, I combine an eclectic mix of classic songs from a variety of decades and genres with a relaxing, coffeehouse jazz influenced approach that will perfectly complement your next event in a way that is subtle yet engaging.
I am a regular performer at St. Regis, Waldorf Astoria, Intercontinental Buckhead, and Atlanta Apparel, and play at corporate events for various hotels throughout the Atlanta area such as the Whitley, The W, and the Ritz Carlton. as well as dozens of galas, clubs, and wedding venues.
This year, I performed for Arthur Blank’s Super Bowl party with Lilac Wine Trio in New Orleans, and just 2 months later, was invited to perform a solo acoustic set for The Masters and its VIP guests at an event sponsored by IBM in Augusta.
