About us

The Protea Hotel Bloemfontein is situated 2.5 km from the N1 Highway, at 202 Nelson Mandela Drive, Bloemfontein. It is set in secure landscaped gardens with a swimming pool and terrace used for relaxing after a strenuous day. We are easily accessible both from the N1 and the airport and we are within walking distance of the University of the Free State, Grey College , Medi-Clinic and an array of Shopping centres and restaurants. The Protea Hotel Bloemfontein comprises of 94 modern and luxurious rooms with en- suite bathrooms and a separate bath and shower. The Hotel features include a conference room which can seat between 40 – 60 delegates, depending on seating preference. We also have a smaller conference room which can hold up to 20 delegates. We have a restaurant, bar and lounge area. We have internet access, limited room service facilities as well as limited undercover parking.

In 1981, Julie founded Everything Done Right Catering, a high-end catering business. During that time, Julie developed a line of dressings and sauces sold to large retail store chains in Canada and Mexico. In 1989, Julie was a recipient of the 40 Under 40 award.
