Once upon a time in 2016, Matt Levy, founder of Covert Cocktail Club, hosted a secret speakeasy as an intimate place for strangers to gather in his home. The only way to find out about it was via word of mouth. No address was given, the only clue being a sign placed in the window, “Cocktails Here”. A lot of people thought it was pretty cool, even before The New York Times wrote about it. But that was all pre-pandemic, and this is a new era. Liberated from the confines of a single location, Covert Cocktail Club now brings the speakeasy right to your door—be it at your home, office, bar mitzvah, dinner party, bachelor/ette party or anywhere you choose!

Threes Brewing Gowanus is a brewery and private event venue at 333 Douglass Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn — our flagship location, and the largest of our Brooklyn event spaces. Four bookable spaces, from a 25-person dinner to a 250-person indoor/outdoor buyout. The centerpiece is the Yard: 3,200 sq ft of outdoor event space anchored by a 16-ft steel trellis wrapped in hops, ivy, and wisteria, with hornbeam apple trees along the south wall. In winter, heated tents enclose it entirely, making it a genuine year-round option rather than a summer-only one. Indoors, the Main Bar runs a 24-line draught system and full bar against warm lighting and industrial accents. Corporate planners book us for team offsites, all-hands, holiday parties and end-of-year celebrations, summer company events, client dinners and receptions, product launches, team happy hours, recruiting mixers, panels and fireside chats, and guided beer tastings as a team activity. Past clients include The New York Times, HBO Max, and Food Bank for New York City. Every on-site event includes a dedicated event manager, AV and sound system, a customized floor plan, all furniture, glassware and flatware, white linen tablecloths and napkins, votive candlelight, personalized bar menus, and personalized welcome signage. No vendor restrictions apart from our in-house bar and catering — bring your own DJ, florist, or photographer. Food comes from Grand Army, our exclusive catering partner: passed bites, stationed spreads, family-style mains, large party platters, and dessert, with vegetarian, and gluten-free options throughout. Beverage packages range from Threes draft beer to draft plus wine, standard open bar, premium open bar, and an all non-alcoholic package of mocktails, N/A beer and wine. Custom signature cocktails on request. The beer is ours — IPAs, lagers, and mixed-culture ales, brewed by Threes. If the team can't leave the office, we also run offsite events: guided beer tastings and full offsite bar service at your workplace or venue. Where We Meet We typically meet guests at the Ace Hotel located at 20 W 29th Street (midtown Manhattan, 10 blocks south of Times Square). If we are taking guests on a Brooklyn tour, we typically meet them at the Whole Foods upstairs cafe located at 4 Union Square (Manhattan, at 14th Street). At both pre-experience meeting locations you’ll find a cafe and bathroom, which are both convenient before your marathon secondhand shopping day! For larger groups and corporate events, we organize meetings at a private location also conveniently located near midtown and subway access. That address is determined before the tour and space rental is included in booking fees.
