This one of a kind facility in the County, designed by architect Donald Ross, was built in 1923. Originally known as the Beaver Dam Golf and Country Club, this former clubhouse and 27-hole golf course attracted renowned golfers such as Arnold Palmer, Ben Hogan, and Jack Nicklaus; and in 1949 hosted the U.S. Women's Open Championship. In 1979, The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission acquired the Country Club, and renamed it the Prince George's Ballroom. This stately building underwent major renovations that have transformed it into one of the most distinguished facilities in the County.
