Malmö Live
Malmö Live is een hele wijk met een concertzaal, een conferentiecentrum en een hotel. Het Deense architectenbureau Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter is verantwoordelijk voor het ontwerp met gebouwen op verschillende hoogtes, dakterrassen, houten vlonders met uitzicht op de gracht en glinsterende gevels. De kleuren — okerrood, geel en wit — zijn zo gekozen dat ze passen bij het kleurenschema van de stad Malmö. De bedoeling is dat ze het oude stadscentrum gaan verbinden met de nieuwere ontwikkeling in het havengebied. Malmö Live wordt officieel geopend in mei 2015.

Ribersborgs Kallbadhus
Het oorspronkelijke Ribersborgs kallbadhus, plaatselijk bekend als Kallis of Ribban, werd gebouwd in 1892. Het werd beschadigd tijdens een kerststorm in 1902, maar werd herbouwd in een licht gewijzigde vorm. Het gebouw heeft een open, houten ontwerp met horizontale panelen, dat de architectuur van een Zweedse spa weerspiegelt. „Kallis” is nu geclassificeerd als een monumentaal pand en is het hele jaar door een populaire badvoorziening.

De Öresundbrug
De Öresundbrug
De machtige en indrukwekkende brug verbindt de twee landen over de Öresund. De belangrijkste architect was Georg K S Rotne en de ongeveer acht kilometer lange brug met zijn symmetrische 204 meter hoge pylonen werd officieel geopend op 1 juli 2000. De oversteek is in zijn geheel 16 kilometer lang en aan de Deense kant leidt de brug naar een weg op het kunstmatige eiland Pepparholm, waarna het een vier kilometer lange tunnel onder water wordt. Je kunt de brug vanuit de westelijke haven bekijken.

Een industriegebied dat in verval raakt, nu een woonwijk met een duurzaamheidsconcept dat bezoekers trekt uit zowel China als Kopenhagen. Veel van de gebouwen zijn gebouwd voorafgaand aan de woningbeurs Bo01 en het gebied wordt een mijlpaal in de Zweedse architectuur genoemd. Het biedt een combinatie van kleinschaligheid en stedelijke structuur, met nieuwe modernistische architectuur.
Het gebied beschikt over lokaal hernieuwbare energie en geavanceerd afvalbeheer. Het district „Fullriggaren” heeft de grootste verzameling energiezuinige en passieve gebouwen van Zweden, met zonnecellen, zonnepanelen, kleine windparken, groene daken en een carpool.

Kasteel Malmöhus
Museum
Het oudste bewaard gebleven renaissancekasteel in de Scandinavische regio. Het werd gebouwd in de 16e eeuw in opdracht van de Deense koning Christian III, hoewel delen van het gebouw ook overblijfselen zijn van de citadel, gebouwd door Eric van Pommeren in 1434. Het kasteel was niet langer een koninklijke residentie in 1658, toen Skåne deel ging uitmaken van Zweden, en werd in plaats daarvan gebruikt als fort en later als gevangenis. Het is nu een museum.

Wanneer u op station Malmö C uit de trein stapt, weet u dat u zich in een van de milieuvriendelijkste steden van Europa bevindt. Er zijn nauwelijks heuvels in de hele stad Malmö, en dit verklaart misschien waarom de mensen van Malmö altijd graag hebben gefietst: 490 km uitstekende fietspaden doorkruisen de stad. Je hoeft niet eens je eigen fiets mee te nemen. Hier in Malmö hebben we een fietsdeelsysteem met 500 fietsen op 50 stations. Haal onze ECO-gids op bij het VVV-kantoor.
