Het centrum werd geopend in mei 1996 en is verdeeld in drie grote delen die een oppervlakte van 40.000 vierkante meter beslaan, waardoor dit een ideale locatie is voor allerlei soorten evenementen, beurzen en tentoonstellingen. Het Tenerife International Centre for Trade Fairs and Congresses, gelegen in het uitbreidingsgebied van Santa Cruz de Tenerife, is het nieuwe beeld geworden van de zuidelijke ingang van de hoofdstad.
