Het West Cork Hotel ligt in Ilen Street, Skibbereen, Ierland. Het hotel beschikt over 34 kamers met eigen badkamer die kunnen voldoen aan een breed scala aan accommodatie- en budgetvereisten. Alle kamers zijn luxueus ingericht; de meeste maken optimaal gebruik van het uitzicht over de prachtige rivier de Ilen. Alle kamers zijn uitgerust met de mogelijkheid om koffie en thee te zetten, evenals kabeltelevisie en een directe telefoonlijn. Ze zijn allemaal ruim, rustig en rustgevend. En toch is The West Cork Hotel vanwege de centrale ligging ideaal gelegen om alles te benutten wat Skibbereen (Sciobairin; 'kleine boothaven') te bieden heeft: bekroonde visrestaurants, levendige traditionele muziekpubs, een Franse chocolatier, bruisende boerenmarkten. The West Cork Hotel is een ideale uitvalsbasis voor diegenen die misschien wel de mooiste en meest ongerepte kustlijn van Ierland willen ontdekken. Het heeft een uitstekende reputatie opgebouwd bij onder andere stellen die op romantische uitjes zijn, gezinnen die plezier willen hebben, bruiloftsplanners, organisatoren van conferenties... Kortom, iedereen die een comfortabele, vriendelijke en betaalbare bestemming wil die het beste van oud en nieuw combineert. Het hotel werd opgericht in 1902 en werd 104 jaar lang eigendom van en beheerd door de familie Murphy. In 2006 werd het overgenomen door Tim en Marion Looney, inwoners van Skibbereen, die hebben beloofd het ethos van het hotel van ouderwetse gastvrijheid en waarde voort te zetten.
