De „Casa Rosada” is de zetel van de uitvoerende macht van de Argentijnse Republiek. Daarin bevindt zich het kantoor van de president van de Argentijnse natie.
Dit gebouw is gelegen aan Balcarce Street 50, in de buurt van Monserrat in de stad Buenos Aires, tegenover het historische Plaza de Mayo. De karakteristieke kleur is roze en wordt beschouwd als een van de meest karakteristieke gebouwen van Buenos Aires. Het herbergt ook het Museum van het Huis van de Regering, met voorwerpen die verband houden met de presidenten van het land. In 1942 werd het uitgeroepen tot nationaal historisch monument.

Het Colon Theater van Buenos Aires is een van de belangrijkste operahuizen ter wereld. De rijke en prestigieuze geschiedenis en de uitzonderlijke akoestische en architecturale omstandigheden van het gebouw plaatsen het op het niveau van theaters zoals de Scala in Milaan, de Opera in Parijs, de Weense Opera, de Covent Garden in Londen en de Metropolitan in New York.
Het Colon Theater was actief van 1857 tot 1888, het jaar waarin het werd gesloten voor de bouw van een nieuwe zaal. Deze werd op 25 mei 1908 ingehuldigd met een kenmerk van Aida. In het begin huurde de Colón buitenlandse bedrijven in voor de seizoenen; vanaf 1925 had hij zijn eigen stabiele lichamen - orkest, ballet en koor - en zijn eigen productieworkshops, waardoor hij al in de jaren dertig zijn eigen seizoenen kon organiseren, gefinancierd door de stadsbegroting. Sindsdien is het Teatro Colón gedefinieerd als een seizoenstheater.
Door de geschiedenis heen hebben verschillende belangrijke zangers het podium betreden, zoals Enrico Caruso, Claudia Muzio, Maria Callas, Régine Crespin, Birgit Nilsson, Plácido Domingo en Luciano Pavarotti. Ook dansers zoals Vaslav Nijinski, Margot Fonteyn, Maia Plisetskaia, Rudolf Nureyev, Mikhail Barishnikov, regisseurs zoals Arturo Toscanini, Herbert von Karajan, Hector Panizza, Ferdinand Leitner, en nog veel meer. Het komt ook vaak voor dat, volgens de traditie van Richard Strauss, Camille Saint-Saëns, Pietro Mascagni en Ottorino Respighi, de componisten naar de Colón komen om de premières van hun eigen werken te regisseren of te begeleiden.

Ooit een arme vrachthaven, is het kustgebied van Puerto Madero nu een van de meest trendy wijken van Buenos Aires, vol luxe restaurants en schitterende discotheken. Het grotendeels autovrije eiland herbergt enkele van de meest indrukwekkende architectuurgebouwen in de stad. Luxe appartementen en hoge kantoortorens domineren het gebied en omringen een plein met uitzicht op zee in stijl en ondersteund door een grote uitgestrektheid van groene gebieden die op een natuurlijke manier bewaard zijn gebleven.
Vanuit de buurt is het hoogtepunt de emblematische „Puente de la Mujer”, een artistieke brug die Puerto Madero verbindt met het continentale centrum van de Plaza de Mayo. Het futuristische ontwerp, gemaakt door de Spaanse sculptuur van Santiago Calatrava, zou symbool staan voor een abstracte tangodans en een opvallend silhouet projecteren op de skyline van de stad.

Caminito is een van de meest karakteristieke promenades van de stad en een van de niet te missen attracties voor degenen die de stad bezoeken. Met zijn typische flatgebouwen van plaatstaal in de buurt van La Boca, waarvan de muren in verschillende kleuren zijn geschilderd, is het ook een openluchtmuseum van bijna 150 meter lang.
Het maakte lange tijd deel uit van het traject van de spoorlijn naar Ensenada (een uur rijden van Buenos Aires), totdat in 1928 de afslag werd gesloten en de weg een verlaten steegje werd. Het was te danken aan het initiatief van verschillende buren, waaronder de schilder Benito Quinquela Martín (een van de belangrijkste weldoeners van de buurt en wiens werk wordt herdacht door de kleurrijke huizen van La Boca), die hij in de jaren vijftig het land terugvond om er een wandelpromenade en een straatmuseum van te maken, waaraan beetje bij beetje werken van verschillende kunstenaars werden toegevoegd. In 1959 werd hij op initiatief van Quinquela Martín gedoopt met de naam van de beroemde tango „Caminito”,
Op de „Fair of Plastic Artists of Caminito” vind je hedendaagse kunstenaars met een uitstekende reputatie, die hun werken tentoonstellen en verkopen, geïnspireerd door de kleuren van hun omgeving en het tangogevoel. Het is elke dag geopend van 11.00 tot 18.00 uur in de winter en van 11.00 tot 20.00 uur in de zomer.

Beurs van San Telmo

Antiekbeurs in de buurt van San Telmo, stad Buenos Aires, hoofdstad van Argentinië. Deze zondagsbeurs werd in 1970 opgericht door architect José María Peña en heeft 270 kraampjes.
Het bevindt zich op het Dorrego-plein (Humberto Primo en Defensa) en werkt elke zondag van 10.00 tot 16.00 uur. Het wordt bezocht door meer dan tienduizend mensen per zondag; voornamelijk toeristen van over de hele wereld.
De San Telmo-beurs staat bekend om de kraampjes waar antiek en curiosa worden verkocht, ook wel bekend als de „Mercado de Pulgas”. De beurs bevindt zich in het hart van de Plaza Dorrego, maar strekt zich uit door de omliggende straten, vooral via de Defensa-straat. Ook in de omgeving vallen de oude cafés, antiekwinkels en kledingwinkels op.
Andere attracties van de San Telmo Fair zijn de verschillende straatshows zoals de tango-orkesten, de levende beelden, de muzikanten en dansers.

Het Tortoni Café, gelegen aan de Avenida de Mayo 825, in de stad Buenos Aires. De naam komt vrijwel zonder twijfel van wat aan het einde van de negentiende eeuw het beroemde Café Tortoni in Parijs was. Al bijna een eeuw lang is het Buenos Aires-Argentijnse Tortoni Café het meest representatief voor de traditionele geest van de avenue de Mayo en is nu al een legende van de stad Buenos Aires. In dit café was de belangrijkste literaire scene van Buenos Aires, geleid door de schilder Benito Quinquela Martín.
Tegenwoordig is het nog steeds een plaats van culturele en toeristische verspreiding bij uitstek. Momenteel is de eigenaar van de koffie de Touring Club Argentino. De zaal „La Bodega”, in de kelder, is het decor voor verschillende tango- en jazzartiesten. In deze laatste categorie is het vermeldenswaard dat de Fénix Jazz Band, een Argentijns traditioneel jazz-ensemble dat sinds 1978 elke zaterdag optreedt, bestaat. Er zijn ook boekpresentaties en poëziewedstrijden. De koffie heeft de decoratie van zijn beginjaren behouden en de uitgang aan de Rivadavia-straat. Het heeft ook een bibliotheek en op de achtergrond pooltafels en kamers om domino en dobbelstenen te spelen.
