Meer recentelijk is het een intieme locatie geworden voor burgerlijke huwelijksceremonies. Gedurende acht eeuwen heeft Kilkenny Castle vele belangrijke historische bijeenkomsten georganiseerd. In de Paradetoren was inderdaad de Grote Raadskamer gevestigd waar het Parlement in de 17e eeuw zetelde. Naast The Parade Tower Wing is de prachtige Long Gallery van Kilkenny Castle te huur voor passende avondevenementen, waaronder klassieke muziekrecitals, poëzielezingen en borrels vóór het diner.
