Kleinbasel verleidt in de eerste plaats met de oever van de Rijn, die uitnodigt tot verpozen en ontspannen bij de eerste zonnestralen. De oude binnenstad van Grossbasel betovert daarentegen met zijn knusse plekjes en kronkelende steegjes, die uitnodigen tot een wandeling.

In een ondiep zwembad van 19 cm diep, 16 m breed en 19 m lang, gegoten in zwart gietasfalt, plaatste de kunstenaar negen zwarte figuren aangedreven door laagspanning die water uitstoten terwijl ze bewegen. Deze negen ijzeren eminenties praten vrolijk met elkaar zoals de mimespelers, acteurs en dansers dat ooit deden op precies deze plek op het podium. Met deze fontein gaf de populaire kunstenaar Basel een nieuwe bezienswaardigheid. Ongeacht het weer is het altijd druk op de fonteinsite van mensen die geanimeerd worden om te picknicken of worden verplaatst om een gesprek aan te knopen met een vreemde. Dit kunstwerk is onderdeel geworden van het leven van de inwoners van Basel, zoals weinig andere voorwerpen dat hebben gedaan.
