Waarom kiezen voor onze bestemming?
Gisteren was Barbizon een enorm gehucht van houtbewerkers. Maar met de komst van Corot, Rousseau, Millet en Diaz de la Pena werd het tussen 1830 en 1870 het toneel van de moderne schilderrevolutie.
Ze worden de „coloristen”, de „tuinarchitecten” genoemd. Ze kwamen wandelend van Chailly naar Barbizon, waar het echtpaar Ganne hen verwelkomde in hun herberg om het ontmoetingspunt van alle kunstenaars te worden. De schilders waren dol op alles in het dorp: licht in het kreupelhout, de donkere kleuren van de hoge bomen, de stormachtige wolken, het seizoen of de dagelijkse veranderingen van de natuur Ezel op de achterkant, ze renden hun studeerkamer uit en liepen naar de vlakte of het bos, verrassende natuur „thuis”.
Vandaag de dag heeft Barbizon, de „ecoloogstad van die tijd”, zijn charmante aantrekkingskracht behouden met huizen gemaakt van steen en klimop, zijn tuinen vol rozen en is nog steeds het „dorp van schilders”, van alle schilders aller tijden.

Who doesn’t enjoy traveling, movies, music, games, and room escape challenges? We figured if we’d have fun building and testing these Tourist Scavenger Hunts, you would also enjoy doing them. This new way of discovering a city via a walking tour with various challenges is a great way to learn about its history and discover its layout.
Simple And Fun
Each Tourist Scavenger Hunt is around 40 steps, 2-3 hours in duration on a 3-4km circuit which brings you back to the start.
