The Standard, Brussels brengt het ontwerp, de cultuur en de activeringsgedreven filosofie van het merk naar België. Met 180 kamers (plus 20 woningen) is dit moderne nieuwbouwproject ontworpen om de beroemde dag- en uitgaanservaringen van The Standard te organiseren. Een kas op de begane grond nodigt gasten en de lokale bevolking uit in de lobbylounge, het restaurant en het terras, terwijl The Rooftop op de bovenverdieping een eigen restaurant, bar en tuin biedt, die een buurtbestemming zal worden. Naast deze levendige ruimtes beschikt het hotel ook over zeven vergaderzalen met natuurlijk daglicht, elk uitgerust met moderne, hoogtechnologische voorzieningen, waardoor ze perfect zijn voor zowel zakelijke als privé-evenementen. In het hele gebouw bieden extra openbare en particuliere evenementenruimtes platforms voor verschillende evenementen.

Cultuur met uitzicht: de Mont des Arts De Kunstberg is de kruising tussen de bovenstad en het centrum van Brussel en biedt in alle seizoenen een prachtig uitzicht. Beneden kun je zitten in de weelderige tuinen die naar het standbeeld van Albert I leiden. De „ridderkoning” staat tegenover zijn geliefde, koningin Elizabeth, wiens standbeeld op de kleine Place de l'Albertine aan de andere kant van de weg staat. De Kunstberg herbergt het KBR-museum, dat de bibliotheek van de hertogen van Bourgondië en de belangrijkste bibliotheek van het land (KBR) huisvest. Aan de andere kant van de Kunstberg vind je het Brusselse Congrescentrumplein. Op loopafstand vind je ook grote musea en culturele instellingen zoals Bozar, het BELvue museum en het Muziekinstrumentenmuseum (MIM), om er maar een paar te noemen.

Manneken Pis

Manneken Pis: het gaat niet om de grootte Sinds de 15e eeuw siert de sculptuur van Manneken Pis een van de openbare fonteinen die de stad van drinkwater voorzien. Na verloop van tijd werd dit kleine mannetje een soort mascotte, waarbij de Brusselaars hem zagen als een symbool van het plaatselijke temperament, een unieke combinatie van ondeugend, oneerbiedig en grappig. Een veelbegeerd symbool, aangezien het huidige beeld een kopie is. Het origineel, dat verschillende keren werd gestolen, is nu veilig ondergebracht in het Stadsmuseum van Brussel. Vlakbij kun je de enorme garderobe van Manneken Pis ontdekken in het GardeRobe MannekenPis Museum.
