De drie treinstations van Boedapest — Keleti, Nyugati en Deli — liggen op slechts een paar haltes met de metro of tram. Met een eigen auto: Het hotel biedt graag een parkeerservice, met overdekte parkeergelegenheid beschikbaar voor EUR 27 netto per nacht. Er zijn elektrische oplaadpunten beschikbaar op het terrein. Met het openbaar vervoer: Station Blaha Lujza, net om de hoek van het hotel, ligt aan de rode metrolijn die van oost naar west over de Donau rijdt. Het station dient ook als knooppunt voor tram- en buslijnen.

De eerste koninklijke residentie op Castle Hill werd gebouwd in de 13e eeuw, na de Mongoolse invasie. Het werd uitgebreid in de 14e eeuw en werd waarschijnlijk het grootste gotische paleis van de late middeleeuwen. De bouw werd voortgezet in de 15e eeuw, na het huwelijk van koning Matthias Corvinus en Beatrix van Napels in 1476. Veel Italiaanse kunstenaars en ambachtslieden vergezelden de nieuwe koningin en brachten de renaissancestijl naar Buda. Het paleis werd volledig verwoest toen Boeda werd bevrijd van de Turken. In de 18e eeuw werd een klein barokpaleis gebouwd, dat identiek is aan de kernstructuur van het huidige paleis. Tijdens het Oostenrijks-Hongaarse rijk werden in het paleis weelderige ceremonies gehouden die symbool stonden voor de vrede tussen de dynastie en de natie. De wederopbouw van het Koninklijk Paleis werd in de 19e eeuw voortgezet en werd voltooid in 1904. Aan het einde van de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd het paleis zwaar beschadigd. Het werd opnieuw herbouwd, in neobarokstijl, met veel originele onderdelen.
