Het Roemeens Atheneum (Roemeens: Ateneul Român) is een concertzaal in het centrum van Boekarest, Roemenië, en een bezienswaardigheid van de Roemeense hoofdstad. Het sierlijke, gewelfde, ronde gebouw werd geopend in 1888 en is de meest prestigieuze concertzaal van de stad en de thuisbasis van het „George Enescu” Philharmonic en het George Enescu Festival. De algemene stijl is neoklassiek, met wat meer romantische accenten. Voor het gebouw bevindt zich een klein park en een standbeeld van de Roemeense dichter Mihai Eminescu. Binnenin bevindt zich op de begane grond een sierlijke conferentiezaal die even groot is als het auditorium erboven; in het auditorium zijn er 600 zitplaatsen in de kraampjes, de rest van de stoelen is verdeeld over 52 loges. Een fresco van 75 bij 3 meter (246,1 bij 9,8 ft) van Costin Petrescu siert de binnenkant van de ronde muur van de concertzaal. Het stuk, geschilderd met de al fresco-techniek, toont de belangrijkste momenten uit de Roemeense geschiedenis, te beginnen met de verovering van Dacia door de Romeinse keizer Trajanus en eindigend met de realisatie van Groot-Roemenië in 1918. Het gebouw, erkend als een symbool van de Roemeense cultuur, is in 2007 ingeschreven op de lijst van het label van Europese erfgoedsites.

Het Parlementspaleis (Roemeens: Palatul Parlamentului), ook bekend als het Huis van de Republiek (Casa Republicii) of Volkshuis/Volkspaleis (Casa Poporului), is de zetel van het parlement van Roemenië, gelegen bovenop Dealul Spirii in Boekarest, de nationale hoofdstad. Het paleis bereikt een hoogte van 84 m (276 ft), heeft een vloeroppervlak van 365.000 m2 (3.930.000 sq ft) en een volume van 2.550.000 m3 (90.000.000 kubieke voet). Het Parlementspaleis is een van de zwaarste gebouwen ter wereld, weegt ongeveer 4.098.500.000 kilogram (9,04 miljard pond; 4,10 miljoen ton) en is tevens het op een na grootste administratieve gebouw ter wereld. (De Grote Piramide van Gizeh is met ongeveer 5,75 miljoen ton ongeveer 40% zwaarder.) Het gebouw werd ontworpen en begeleid door hoofdarchitect Anca Petrescu, met een team van ongeveer 700 architecten, en gebouwd over een periode van 13 jaar (1984-97) in socialistisch realistische en modernistische neoklassieke architecturale vormen en stijlen, met socialistisch realisme in het achterhoofd. Het Koninklijk Paleis (Roemeens: Palatul Regal) van Boekarest, tussen 1948 en 1990 bekend als Paleis van de Republiek (Roemeens: Palatul Republicii), is een monumentaal gebouw gelegen in de hoofdstad van Roemenië, aan Calea Victoriei. Het paleis diende in zijn verschillende vormen als officiële residentie voor de koningen van Roemenië tot 1947, toen het communistische regime werd geïnstalleerd na de gedwongen troonsafstand van Michael I van Roemenië. Sinds 1950 herbergt het paleis het Nationaal Kunstmuseum van Roemenië. De Roemeense koninklijke familie gebruikt momenteel Elisabeta Palace als officiële residentie in Boekarest. Bovendien staat de Roemeense regering de koninklijke familie toe om het Koninklijk Paleis verschillende gelegenheden te gebruiken. Het paleis is de grootste en belangrijkste koninklijke residentie van het land en bevat emblematische officiële ruimtes zoals de Troonzaal, de Koninklijke Eetzaal en de monumentale Voivodes-trap. Een ruiterstandbeeld van de eerste koning van Roemenië, Carol I, staat in het midden van een groot plein ervoor, traditioneel bekend als het „Paleisplein” (Roemeens: Piața Palatului), maar na de Roemeense revolutie van 1989 omgedoopt tot „Revolutieplein”.
