Les Garrigues, met 20.350 inwoners (2008) en 799,71 vierkante kilometer, wordt in het noorden begrensd door Segria, Pla d'Urgell en Urgell, in het zuiden door Priorat, in het oosten door Conca de Barbera, terwijl het westen wordt begrensd door de regio Ribera d'Ebre in Tarragona. De keuken van Garrigues biedt een grote verscheidenheid aan gerechten waarbij de in de regio gemaakte extra vierge olijfolie het hoofdingrediënt is. Consell Comarcal de les Garrigues organiseert samen met restaurants uit de regio Mostra Gastronomica de les Garrigues (Garrigues Gastronomic Weeks), die gewoonlijk elk jaar in november wordt gehouden. Mostra Gastronomica de les Garrigues helpt om de typische keuken van onze regio te introduceren en te promoten, evenals de zo speciale smaak die olijfolie onze gerechten biedt.
