HET KANALISEREN VAN DE DAKEN VAN OAXACA
Beklim de trap naar Serena, onze bar en restaurant op het dak waar u heerlijk buiten kunt dineren in Oaxaca en Mexico City. Hier op ons levendige, weelderig beplante terras kunt u genieten van de relaxte maar toch verfijnde sfeer zoals geen andere plek in South Beach. Serena staat bekend om haar deelbare gerechten en een moderne kijk op de Latijns-Amerikaanse en Mexicaanse keuken en verwelkomt bruisende brunches met livemuziek, lekkere hapjes bij zonsondergang en de beruchte afterparty in Miami.
Geïnspireerd door de felgekleurde werken van de grote modernistische architect Luis Barragán, is de tuinachtige eetzaal in de buitenlucht van Serena een levendig mozaïek van roze, oranje, koraal en blauw, met kalk gekalkt voor extra diepte en warmte en gecompenseerd door terracotta en witte stenen vloeren in een ombrépatroon. Diners kunnen kiezen uit de leuke en eclectische arrangementen van pluche banken, overvolle banketten, schommelende barkrukken, smeedijzeren stoelen met kussens en tafelbladen met keramische tegels — allemaal omringd door inheemse Mexicaanse bloeiende planten onder een gewelfde gietijzeren overkapping met fonkelende lichtjes en geurige bougainvillea. De ruimte doet denken aan de traditionele markten van Michoacán, Tepoztlán en andere Mexicaanse locaties en omvat een buitenkeuken waar versgemalen maïsmeel op bestelling wordt bereid op een comal.
De serreachtige bar heeft glazen garagedeuren die openstaan voor de warme strandbries. Binnen heeft de lounge blauw geverfde balkenplafonds en mozaïektegels die doen denken aan een antieke fontein. Uit de halfronde dj-booth, bestaande uit luchtige blokken, klinken relaxte deuntjes, gestationeerd onder een paars getinte muur met een neonreclame met de tekst „LA ULTIMA Y NOS VAMOS” („Last one and we're leaving”).

Half Colombian, half Viet, this is not your classic Viet spot. It’s next level Vietnamese; we have created our own style and flow. Phuc Yea’s culinary inspiration is a mash up of Meinhold’s ethnic heritage and Zapata’s culinary background. The space is separated into three areas, a more sophisticated setting offers a lush lobby lounge anchored by a 15' raw bar just at the main entrance of the space perfectly set for oysters and cocktails, speakeasy-esque dining room with private and semi private dining zones are located in the mezzanine level, and the Lantern Garden during the cooler months is in the rear patio.
