Wanneer u Buckland bezoekt, treedt u in meer dan 700 jaar voetsporen; van de cisterciënzers die de abdij hebben gebouwd en het landgoed hebben bewerkt, tot de zeevarenden Grenville en Drake die de vorm van het huis en het lot van het land hebben veranderd.
