El Museo de Cau Ferrat lo fundó en 1893 el artista Santiago Rusiñol (1861-1931) como casa-taller y se convirtió en museo público en 1933, conservando el espíritu artístico que le otorgó su fundador. Contiene colecciones de arte antiguo reunidas por el artista (pintura, hierro forjado, cerámica, vidrio, arqueología, escultura y mobiliario) así como arte moderno (pintura, dibujo, escultura) con obras de Rusiñol, Casas, Picasso, R. Pichot, Mas i Fontdevila, Zuloaga, Regoyos y Degouwe de Nucques, Enric Clarasó, Manolo Hugué, Pau Gargallo en anderen. Las actividades organizadas por Rusiñol con la participación de otros artistas, músicos, escritores convirtieron el Cau Ferrat en el Templo de Modernismo.

El Palau Maricel werd in 1910 gebouwd door de miljardair Noord-Amerikaanse Charles Deering (1852-1927). El palau es dreça sobre un conjunt de cases de pescadors que vorejaven el carrer Fonollar en l'antic Hospital de Sant Joan. L'hospital va ser fundat el 1326 door Bernat de Fonollar, generaal-majoor van de koning Jaume II van Aragó en de eerste senyor particular de Sitges. Tijdens de 19e eeuw werd het opgeknapt en gerenoveerd. Vanwege de verschillende oorsprong, het gebouw dat de conjunt van Maricel vormt, zonder enige vorm van heterogenis te reageren op een strikte simetrie. L'antic Hospital de Sant Joan es va unir amb el casalots de Fonollar carrer mitjançant un pont. Al mateix temps, deze casalots kunnen het interieur opnieuw worden geformatteerd om er een uniek gebouw van te maken. Un corraló enllaça el Baluard amb la plaça de l'Ajuntament per entremig d'aquestes cases. Els sitgetans, d'ençà de l'aparició de Deering, l'anomenaven irònicament La Quinta Avenida. Com Cau Ferrat, el Maricel no show un exterior ostentós. Més que no pas un palau vol semblar una casa major de poble. L'interior també està presidit per l'austeritat. Het deel van de zee is gereserveerd voor de kamers van de familie Deering. La part de terra, a la col·lecció, que es volia que fos una col·lecció viva. Cada objecte havia de continuar fent la funció para la qual havia estat creat. A l'entorn de dos grans espais, el saló Daurat i el saló Blau, concebuts com a salons de reunió es distribuïen les col·leccions de brodat, ferros forjats, vidres, mobles, tapissos i pintura antiga i moderna que Deering havia reunit per Espanya, salvant moltes d'aquelles peces d'una veilige vernietiging. El gran saló de Maricel es va inaugurar el 18 d'octubre de 1912. Utrillo hi va fer una conferència i s'hi van exhibibir les adquisicions d'obres d'art que Deering preveia de situar al palau. Maar Maricel, in tegenstelling tot El Cau Ferrat, is niet bestemd om weerstand te bieden aan het einde van de tijd. In 1921 keerde Deering terug naar zijn land en kreeg hij een goed deel van zijn collectie. Momenteel zijn de salons van het paleis Maricel en de zeven terrassen, versierd met populair keramiek, bedoeld voor recepcions en congressen. La part de Mar conté el Museu Maricel, que dispa de diverses col·leccions relationades amb Sitges, el modernisme i el col·leccionisme d'art.
