Het stadhuis van Skipton werd gebouwd in 1862 op de plaats van de voormalige pastorie van de Holy Trinity Church. De grote zaal werd in 1878 aangepast en in hoogte verhoogd en werd door een privébedrijf als openbare feestzaal beheerd. Het stadhuis van Skipton heeft vijf kamers die te huur zijn. Toen Skipton Urban District Council in 1895 werd opgericht, kocht het het gebouw als stadhuis, ter vervanging van het 'Old Town Hall' aan Sheep Street. Aan het einde van de 19e eeuw werd aan de voorkant een baldakijn van glas en sierlijk smeedijzer toegevoegd, maar deze werd in de jaren vijftig afgebroken. In 1935 werd een uitbreiding gebouwd om de kantoorruimte te vergroten.
