Het Ancient High House is een van de mooiste Tudor-gebouwen in het land. Het domineerde ooit de skyline van Stafford en is het grootste overgebleven vakwerkhuis in Engeland. De koninklijke familie werd in 1642 in het huis verwelkomd toen koning Charles I daar verbleef op weg naar Shrewsbury, en het huis heeft een uitgebreide collectie antieke meubels en architectonische kenmerken behouden. Het is ook de thuisbasis van het Staffordshire Yeomanry Museum.
