Romiley Golf Club werd opgericht op 29 juli 1897 en was oorspronkelijk bekend als Woodley and Romiley Golf Club. Cursusarchitect Tom Renouf gebruikte de natuurlijke contouren van het land om te plannen en te ontwerpen wat nu wordt beschouwd als een van de beste lay-outs in Cheshire met een prachtig uitzicht over de provincie en de uitlopers van het Peak District National Park.
