When traveling to the Orange County Convention Center, we want to make sure that getting here is the least of your concerns. The Convention Center is only fifteen minutes from the Orlando International Airport and within easy walking and driving distance of world-class dining, shopping and entertainment options. There are more than 23,000 on-site and off-site parking spaces within the district and nearly 10,000 hotel rooms within walking distance of the Center. The connecting hotels are just steps away with adjoining pedestrian bridges to get you from your hotel to your event. Each building has a dedicated rideshare pickup and drop-off location and four taxi companies are approved to pick up at the convention center to assist with attendee transportation. The award-winning Orange County Convention Center, located in the heart of Orlando’s Convention Center District and only fifteen minutes from the Orlando International Airport, provides a multitude of event options in two beautifully appointed buildings. The West Concourse showcases tropical atriums, skylights and inviting courtyards. With distinctive architecture and tropical ambiance, the North/South Concourses are designed for flexibility and functionality, featuring a dramatic 1,500-foot Oversight Pedestrian Bridge with moving sidewalks leading to the West Concourse. The Convention Center is surrounded by more than 125,000 hotel rooms, including over 5,200 directly connected to the facility by pedestrian bridge. A broad offering of show management and exhibitor services, ranging from catering to telecommunications, are considered the finest in the convention industry.

Does Orange County Convention Center have a strategy that focuses on the elimination and diversion of waste (i.e. plastics, papers, cardboard, etc.)? If yes, please elaborate on your strategy of elimination and diversion of waste.
Food Donations - In collaboration with clients, Sodexo Live! works to donate any unused or surplus of food items to local organizations like Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida and Orlando Union Rescue Mission. Back of House Compost - Food scraps are collected back-of-house and deposited in designated organic compactors. The OCCC’s organic waste hauler then takes the organic food waste to be processed into nutrient-rich soil. Cooking Oil Recycling - The recycling of cooking oil ensures that we are properly disposing of such waste. We partner with Brownie’s Septic and Plumbing to pick up and recycle our cooking oil and grease turning it into biodiesel.
