About us
35 Degree South Aquarium Restaurant and Bar in central Paihia is more than any Restaurant. We provide a unique dining and bar experience for families over the water in Paihia with a central 60 000 liter Salt water Aquarium, filled with local fish species caught in the waters of The Bay of Islands. 35 Degrees South is aptly named for its latitudinal location and offers Dining inside our Restaurant around the Aquarium or Alfresco on open decks. The Restaurant seats up to 50 people around the Aquarium, with views out to Russell. There are three private areas with undercover Alfresco dining with gentle waves, lapping under your feet, where the ambiance & the moonlight over the Bay, creates an intimate and private feel for smaller groups. These areas range capacity from a couple to 40 people. All areas may be opened up to accommodate larger groups.
