Kata Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on the west coast of Phuket island as well as one of the most popular beach resorts in Phuket after Patong Beach. Kata enjoys a lovely sandy bay with an incredibly blue sea and an iconic island standing in the ocean, making excellent sunset photos. Kata Beach is popular with everyone for whom the beach is the main reason to come to Phuket, with enough dining and shopping options as well as a toned-down nightlife. While the beach is long and wide, it is only accessible from the two ends because Club Med Resort occupies 90% of the 1.5-kilometre beachfront. Most restaurants, hotels, and shops are not on the beach but on the second parallel road that stretches 100 metres east of the beach and is accessible from the south end of the beach.

The most recent building on the grounds of Wat Chalong is a 60 meters tall 'Chedi' sheltering a splinter of bone from Buddha. Walls and ceilings are decorated with beautiful painting illustrating the life of Buddha, as well as many donated golden statues. Wat Chalong Chedi is built on three floors so feel free to climb all the way to the top floor terrace to get a nice bird view on the entire temple grounds. Few more steps will lead you to a glass display where the fragment of bone can be contemplated.

1). A "Cancellation" charge of 1 night will be charged by the hotel for all reservations made which do not materialize, unless cancellation is received in writing (e.g. E-mail, fax) no later than 7 days prior to arrival. 2). For period 1 November - 23 December and 11 January - 15 April, a minimum of 14 days notice is required, otherwise 50% of the full stay will be applied. 3). For period 24 December - 10 January (inclusive), a minimum of 30 days notice is required, otherwise 100% of the full stay will be applied.
