King Fisher Society

40 minutes away
King Fisher Society is a place where your conversations will be private, your needs will be met, and your years of hard work will be acknowledged. When you bring customers, colleagues or friends, they will know they are appreciated and valued. Who else would take them to a place where they enjoy incredible fishing and/or quail hunting, wilderness beauty, sporting clays, falconry, gourmet dining and live jazz – all in one place?!

The Arboretum

2 blocks away
The Village Arboretum consists of 35 acres of land adjoining Wicker Park, site of the Village Hall. It is a great spot for picnics or tossing a frisbee. The trail system within the Arboretum is perfect for walkers and nature lovers. Many of the trails are wheelchair accessible and dogs on leash are welcome! The Arboretum’s Magnolia Lawn, Pergola Garden, Meadow Lawn and Timmel Pavilion may all be reserved for weddings, receptions, concerts, festivals and other special events.

Sandhills Horticultural Gardens

4 mi. away
Sandhills Community College was chartered on November 7, 1963. Five years later the Landscape Gardening School was initiated. In 1978 the Sandhills Horticultural Gardens became a reality with the establishment of the Ebersole Holly Garden. Over the years, additional gardens have been implemented, including the Rose Garden, the Conifer Garden, the Sir Walter Raleigh Garden, the Hillside Garden, the Fruit & Vegetable Garden, and the Desmond Native Wetland Trail Garden. Today the Sandhills Horticultural Gardens cover twenty-seven acres. They are open to the public every day of the year from dawn to sunset and offer an educational adventure to anyone with an interest in plants, nature, and design composition.

Southern Pines

8 mi. away
The essence of downtown Southern Pines is embodied in its unique array of shops. This streetscape includes historic buildings that-over the years-have housed an assortment of businesses providing life's necessities and pleasures in colorful and friendly style. Downtown's present vitality is linked to its historic boom in the 1920's, when it first grew rapidly as a center of commerce and resort living.

The Tufts Archives

5 mi. away
The Tufts Archives preserves the unique history of Pinehurst, North Carolina from its founding in 1895 to the present. The archives, located in a wing of the Given Memorial Library on the Village Green in Pinehurst, were built in 1975. Its creation was spurred by Richard S. Tufts, grandson of the founder of the village. He created the Tufts Foundation, which provided the funding for the construction of the archives and provided an endowment for its continued operation. Pinehurst Resort and Country Club will be home to the U.S. Open for the fourth time in 25 years when the national championship returns to Pinehurst No. 2 in 2024. The U.S. Open’s return in 2024 will mark the first time in over a century the USGA has awarded four Opens to a single site in a span of 25 years. It will also mark the 25th anniversary of the moment Payne Stewart won the 1999 U.S. Open with a dramatic par putt to win by a stroke over Phil Mickelson. Prior to the 2024 U.S. Open, Pinehurst will host the 2017 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship and the 2019 U.S. Amateur Championship.
