If you are visiting during the Spring-Summer months, you will have the chance to attend a wide range of cultural and musical festivals. Kapana (literally translated “The Trap”) is the newest and most colorful art district of the city. There everyone can enjoy a glass of Bulgarian well-aged wine, local craft beer or different foods, surrounded by the sound of street musicians and the vibrant atmosphere. Located on the historical Mosaic Path, Double Tree by Hilton Plovdiv Center is a walking distance from the Old Town and one of the Seven hills – Sahat tepe, from where you can admire not only views of the city but also the Central Balkan Mountains and the Rhodope mountains. Few minutes away from the hotel is the Bishop`s Basilica of Philippopolis, which is a must-see historical attraction. Passing by the Basilica, you will find yourself in the heart of the main pedestrian street, filled with boutiques and cafes. The walk leading to the Ancient Theater transfers you in old times, cobblestone streets, unique architectural gems and The Ethnographic and Historical Museums. Plovdiv offers a variety of sport facilities such as tennis courts, football playgrounds, bike lanes and jogging alleys, situated around the longest rowing canal “Regatta venue”. If you happen to be here around the winter season, Plovdiv has the biggest open-air ice rink on the Balkans where you can do a couple of pirouettes or as an alternative, grab a glass of mulled wine and explore the Christmas Market.
