A livraria mais bonita do mundo ficava na Rua Carmelitas, perto da Torre dos Clérigos. O edifício externo se destaca, mas é por dentro que o Lello conquista seus visitantes. O tolo de parquete compõe os dois andares, unidos por uma escada vermelha muito longa e ampla. A Lello tem mais de 120.000 livros que transformam esse espaço em um verdadeiro deleite para todos os amantes de livros. Existem títulos para todos os gostos e em vários idiomas. Sendo uma das livrarias mais antigas de Portugal, a Lello está estabelecida no Porto desde 1881. A empresa remonta à fundação da Livraria Internacional de Ernesto Chardron em 1869 na Rua dos Clérigos.

A Torre dos Clérigos, um monumento barroco, tornou-se um dos símbolos mais importantes do Porto. Tem seis andares, 240 degraus e 76 metros. Projetada pelo arquiteto italiano Nicolau Nasoni, a construção começou em 1754 e terminou somente em 1763. Naquela época, a torre era a mais alta já feita em Portugal e também a mais alta da Europa, superando Notre-Dame e Saint-Sulpice em Paris. À medida que nos aproximamos, o centro do Porto é visível de todos os lugares. Nomeada como monumento nacional em 1910, era mais do que uma torre sineira: também serviu como um farol para os navegadores; como um telégrafo; como o relógio da cidade do Porto; e funcionou até mesmo como um ponto estratégico para batalhas militares e políticas. Sendo o cartão de visita do Porto, esta atração é imperdível, especialmente para quem quer subir todos os degraus para apreciar a magnífica vista panorâmica sobre a cidade e o rio.
