Once upon a time in 2016, Matt Levy, founder of Covert Cocktail Club, hosted a secret speakeasy as an intimate place for strangers to gather in his home. The only way to find out about it was via word of mouth. No address was given, the only clue being a sign placed in the window, “Cocktails Here”. A lot of people thought it was pretty cool, even before The New York Times wrote about it. But that was all pre-pandemic, and this is a new era. Liberated from the confines of a single location, Covert Cocktail Club now brings the speakeasy right to your door—be it at your home, office, bar mitzvah, dinner party, bachelor/ette party or anywhere you choose!

Our company was founded in 2008 by Alana Hoye Barnaba. Originally from upstate New York, Alana moved to New York City and immediately began her love affair with its food, history, and culture. For years before creating her company, Alana tried every type of food the city had to offer and began specializing in the tastes of ethnic neighborhoods. Some of her first experiences with the city’s culinary adventures were fresh dumplings and homemade mozzarella — foods included on the signature tour today. Soon after, Alana started Ahoy New York Tours & Tasting and has been sharing her love for the passion, culture, and history of the city through food tours of New York neighborhoods. Ahoy New York Tours and Tasting’s goal with each tour is for customers to leave not only with the knowledge of the area and full of delicious food but also an experience to tell friends and family about long after the tour is complete

In 1992, New York Offstage began, when founder, Bev Sambrotto, left her role as Assistant Director of Visitor Services at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Her tenure at Lincoln Center gave her invaluable experience as a producer of refined cultural events. This experience included talent recruitment and coordination with world-class talent from Lincoln Center’s companies, cutting edge event planning and production for Fortune 500 corporations, and creative, interactive program content for patrons, and international travel and luxury group clients. New York Offstage flourished as the industry leader in these immersive, behind-the-scenes experiences showcasing New York’s cultural world. As the company grew it was evident that its services and business model could be copied in other leading cultural destinations and in 2007 the brand was renamed The Offstage Group. Until 2012 The Offstage Group served groups of all sizes. The company had weathered several economic downturns and as a safeguard changed its business model to include memorable experiences for individual travelers. Your VIP Pass was born!

Nestled in the historic town of Bedford, New York, The Bedford Post Inn boasts a rich and storied past that dates back to the 18th century. Originally constructed in 1762, the main building served as a vital stagecoach stop along the Old Post Road, a major thoroughfare connecting New York City to Boston. During the Revolutionary War, Bedford and its surroundings played a pivotal role as a strategic outpost. The inn, with its vantage point and resources, is believed to have provided shelter and sustenance to soldiers and local militia. Stories passed down through generations suggest that the inn’s wine cellar may have been used as a hiding place for valuable supplies and even people during times of conflict. In the 18th and 19th centuries, weary travelers and postal riders would find respite within its sturdy walls, enjoying the warmth and hospitality of this rural haven. The inn’s strategic location contributed to its significance in the area, making it a bustling spot of activity for both locals and travelers. As transportation evolved and the age of stagecoaches waned, the Bedford Post Inn transitioned into a private residence in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The building’s historic charm and rustic architecture were meticulously preserved by its various owners, each contributing to its legacy. In 2007 actor Richard Gere and his business partner Russell Hernandez acquired the property, recognizing its potential and historical significance, they embarked on an extensive renovation project to restore the inn to its former glory while incorporating modern luxuries. Today, the Bedford Post Inn is managed by Sunday Hospitality. Whether it's enjoying a leisurely meal by the fireplace, exploring the scenic trails of Bedford, or simply soaking in the timeless ambiance, guests are invited to become a part of the ongoing story of this historic treasure.
