The Grand Hotel Excelsior, constructed in the original Liberty style, was first extended in the 1960s. Since then it has been continually modernized up until recently when it underwent a complete renovation to bring it up to the highest quality standards of a luxury Hotel. The hotel has 72 bedrooms, divided according to their characteristics and features into the following categories: economy, standard, superior, junior suites and suites, with interconnecting rooms available for families. Over the years, the Hotel’s Conference Centre has hosted a number of illustrious speakers and been a theatre for several important political, social and art related gatherings, of both national and international prominence. Besides the “Lorenzo il Magnifico” Room, the Excelsior Conference Centre comprises 7 other smaller rooms which can accommodate between 30 and 180 people. Each room has its own independent access to ensure that events can be self-contained. The hotel looks out onto Piazza Italia, the main square and central shopping area of Chianciano Terme. This privileged position is just above Viale della Liberta, one of Chianciano’s liveliest streets, full of shops and bars.

Strazzanti was created by the 3 Strazzanti sisters with our youngest sister & professional Chef Emilia leading the experiences directly in Sicily. We continue the story and memories of our grandparents who taught us everything about our Sicilian and Neapolitan heritage. Growing up we understood our Italian heritage through them as people, their stories and by sharing, eating and cooking the dishes that they grew up with from their homeland and using the ingredients that our relatives would send to us in England from Sicily & Naples in small parcels. When our grandparents left us, it reinforced as a family that what they taught and shared with us is a huge part of our cultural identity, and we could not risk that heritage disappearing. Together as a family and working with other Sicilian families our passion is to give back to the land and work with like-minded young entrepreneurs, landowners and farmers in Sicily to keep this heritage and Sicilian traditions, which we all lovingly grew up with, alive.
