Whether you are planning a holiday get-away or on business, Fawncastle Estate offers a viable alternative to regular commercial hotels. This four-star Guest house, located in the heart of Hillcrest is conveniently close to all amenities, yet tranquil and offers you a taste of peaceful country living. Situated almost halfway between central Durban and Pietermaritzburg, we are just a hop skip and jump away from both the comrades route and the Duzi canoe marathon route. Full service accommodation is offered in a choice of standard, executive or poolside rooms. Comprising of a honeymoon suite, two executive rooms, five pool rooms / family rooms and four standard single, double or twin rooms. Hotel has a choice of two conference rooms: Conference Room 1: Holds 12+ persons Conference Room 2: Holds a maximum of 40 persons.

The only way to find out about it was via word of mouth. No address was given, the only clue being a sign placed in the window, “Cocktails Here”. A lot of people thought it was pretty cool, even before The New York Times wrote about it. But that was all pre-pandemic, and this is a new era.
