The City of Lake Charles is proud to announce the completion of Mallard Golf Club, a Scottish links inspired golf course designed by Jeff Blume. This Championship golf course features five sets of tee boxes, elevated greens, and rolling hills. The golf course is surrounded by native areas, no trees, and will produce a true Scottish links experience that will be unique to Louisiana. The golf course was designed to have fast firm fairways for maximum roll with generous landing areas, providing a truly unique experience to the golfers of Lake Charles that will challenge the best golfers while also appealing to higher handicap players. A beautiful new Clubhouse is on the horizon, and we expect construction to begin in the first quarter of 2022.

Historic City Hall Arts and Cultural Center is a public art and history gallery, which showcases numerous traveling exhibitions from around the world. It is also the home to Black Heritage Gallery and Gallery by the Lake. Both galleries give spotlight to dozens of regional and local artists. The Center features three floors of gallery space, a clock tower, and a landscaped brick plaza. Traveling exhibitions by well-known artists Pablo Picasso, Norman Rockwell, and Tasha Tudor have visited the Center, as well as historic exhibits including Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition and The Pelican State Goes to War (by the National WWII Museum). Visitors from across the country are surprised to find such high-caliber exhibitions in the Lake Area.
The Imperial Calcasieu Museum serves the five parish area of Calcasieu, Cameron, Beauregard, Allen, and Jeff Davis in Southwest Louisiana.
The Museum is a well established 501c3 cultural organization supporting visual arts and artists, and cultural preservation. It has served our community for 54 years and is the only arts and cultural museum serving the area.
McNeese State University is a public university in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Founded in 1939 as Lake Charles Junior College, it was renamed McNeese Junior College after John McNeese, an early local educator.
